EXPLORE BEARING™

BEARING™ IS AN INDEPENDENT LABEL
BY S® AFTERHOURS STUDIO

S®Afterhours started in Maidstone, Kent, England, in 2008 and Nouvelle Aquitaine, France, in 2015 with start-up ideas, concepts, experiments, and designs. The shop has experimental works, art, capsule designs, one-off pieces, and new start-up labels.

Behind the studio are the founder, Tony Costin, a designer, artist, and maker with a passion for design, business, manufacturing, branding and Intellectual Property, along with his partner and wife, Judi Castille, a tax and management accountant sharing the same love for business bringing her old passion for traditional, whimsical illustration and writing and most recently AI-assisted experimentation. They are directly involved in the whole process, from conceptualising to producing and finishing products.

PURSUE PERSONAL™ /BEARING™ Hand-crafted notebooks.

Bearing™ is a concept atelier and studio with entirely in-house design, making, and printing of its brand notebooks. Tony Costin, the founder of the Bearing™ concept, is the hands-on designer and maker behind the recognisable mark. The atelier focuses on 'honest manufacturing' with only hand-operated, manual small machines used, managing closely transparent information, low waste, cost and price that are genuinely reflected in Bearing™ notebooks.

CONCEPTUALISED, HANDMADE and PRINTED IN FRANCE
In Creuse 23, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in our Afterhourshop Atelier.
Only hand-operated, manual small machines are used.

Our fundamental values.
Bearing™ Notebooks are designed with simplicity and functionality in mind, from the honest manufacturing of an object to the sourcing of materials, avoiding wasted cuts, and not using promotional parts that are only thrown away after purchase. Additionally, and not using unhygienic glued labels and plastic-coated applications on our materials.
They are conceptualised and made here, in our shop in Creuse, in the centre of France.Only hand-operated, manual small machines are used, and only bare-to-minimum needed costs, operations and techniques are in-house designed and implemented, with all in mind to make Bearing™ notebooks uncomplicated and affordable. We continually seek ways to eliminate time-wasting operations, reduce unnecessary costs, and eliminate other inefficient methods that unjustly raise the price of a notebook.
We proudly inform and advise our customers on ways to save money and get more value from their purchases through our email notifications and transparent marketing.
